Krakenkiller

I have the next chapter for Scyinth down, I'm just sitting on it. It's been down for about a week, I'm just thinking about it and waiting until I find time to read through everything to see how it fits. I've done some conceptualizing in the last few weeks as well, some new characters and plots to come in the next few chapters.

This is the third and shortest section of the book I have posted so far, but it might be the most important, storywise. It gives Scyinth a direction, and whether or not he decides to follow it, it will affect him for the rest of his life. More on the way, with a little more action.

I saw Shutter Island a few weeks ago, that was a weird movie. I did like it, though, very suspenseful and interesting. Some people called it predictable, but I changed my mind about what I thought was happening at least twice during the movie.
A better movie, similar due to the fact that it stars Leo DiCaprio in a trippy setting, is Inception. A very good (and mostly original) idea, presented very well, with a great ending. It's about people who steal thoughts through your dreams, and at first it seems like that idea is pretty lame, but it doesn't take long for the movie to get going, and the story keeps you very engrossed. 9.5/10 movie, imo. Written and Directed by Christopher Nolan, of  Batman Begins and Dark Knight fame. It wasn't based on a book, which amazes me. Shutter Island was, and it is extremely rare to find a good movie that isn't based on a book. Fight Club, based on a book. LOTR, obviously. Star Wars wasn't, but I wish the prequel trilogy was. District 9 is another good movie not based on a book, fairly original story, executed extremely well. Inception is more original, and really tickles your brain. Must see movie.

It's not a whole chapter per se, but it is two and a half pages of new material and detailing Krall's weird and life-changing journey into the hollow. Also, remembering I like Metallica. Still working full time, and playing Fallout 3 in my spare time.

"Edge of Darkness", worth watching.

"Penultimate Truth", must read.

"Ride The Lightning" (whole album), must listen. Surprisingly versatile for thrash metal.

"Fallout 3:GOTY" must play. Top 10 games on 360.

Edit: It's actually a solid 3 pages. It's also not final draft, I may alter some minor word usage, and depending on the later parts of the book, tweak plot elements. I will probably post the entire thing again in full when it's complete. I don't expect the book to be finished for maybe a year or more.

Got a few new things in the works. I also needed a new journal to grace my profile page. I will post excerpts when I feel they are ready.
